The Puzzle of Politics
TUESDAY 16 March 12:30-1.30PM

Cartoonist, animator, writer and Academy Award winner Bruce Petty discusses and explores—using live drawing—the puzzle of government: how it works, how it has changed and what we should expect from it. His satirical approach allows the use of metaphors, devices and distortion to present what seems to be happening.

Bruce Petty was born in 1929 and worked in the commercial illustration and animation fields in the 1950s. He has worked for The Punch and New Yorker and was the political cartoonist for the Daily Mirror, the Australian and currently for the Melbourne Age. He won an Academy Award for his animated film ‘Leisure’ (1978).
