Gretel Pinniger has been stretching the boundaries of creativity for decades in a life of operatic proportions.  Never shy of publicity, Gretel developed her ‘Madam Lash’ persona in the 1970s.  Author Sam Everingham talks about his recent book Madam Lash: Gretel Pinniger’s Scandalous Life of Sex, Art and Bondage, revealing much about the psychology of celebrity.

Sam Everingham has a passion for Australia’s hidden history, particularly eccentric Australians. His other books include Cobb & Co – the Shocking Truth behind the Legend and Gordon Barton – Australia’s Maverick Entrepreneur (short-listed for the 2009 Blake Dawson Prize for Business Literature)

Mitchell TheatreThe Mitchell Theatre is located on Level 1, 280 Pitt Street.

171 Seats (142 seat recommended capacity due to obstructed views).

The hire fee includes a fixed data projector, projection
screen, sound system, lectern and a computer with internet
access. Instructions for use of the room equipment are displayed on the wall and are also available at Level 3 Reception.


Food and beverages MUST NOT be consumed in the Mitchell Theatre, however the foyer may be used as a break-out area. 

Wheelchair accessible.

Hearing loop installed.
